Elegy for Sonia: Beneath the Kapok Tree

Beneath the Kapok Tree, where shadows weep,
I stand alone, in sorrow steeped.
For Sonia, dear, has left this earth,
Her gentle spirit, now given birth.

Oh, Kapok Tree, with branches wide,
You've seen her laughter, felt her stride.
But now she rests beneath your shade,
In peaceful slumber, where dreams are made.

Her laughter once danced upon the breeze,
Her smile, a beacon through life's seas.
But now her voice is but a memory,
Echoing softly through history.

In every rustle of your leaves,
I feel her presence, though she leaves.
Her essence lingers in the air,
A whisper, a sigh, a silent prayer.

Oh, Sonia dear, your light now fades,
But in our hearts, your memory cascades.
Beneath the Kapok Tree, we mourn your loss,
But know you rest, in eternal bliss.
